Newcastle United got back to winning ways last week against Wolves – without any help from injured star Joe Willock.
The Magpies ran out 1-0 victors at St. James’ Park, with Chris Wood scoring from the penalty spot.

It was a big three points for Eddie Howe, who had watched his side come up short in the three games prior.
It was very important to bounce back, and it was a result that takes Newcastle ever closer to safety. And against a side that has been in good form in 2022 too.
Arguably, Newcastle were able to win on Friday because they came out on top in midfield.
The trio of Bruno Guimaraes, Jonjo Shelvey and Joelinton were excellent against Joao Moutinho an Luke Cundle.
Brazilian star Bruno was particularly impressive.
He was in for his first start at St. James’ Park since his arrival from Lyon in January.

He got the nod because of an injury for Willock, who may now face an uphill battle to get back into the team.
The 22-year-old had been enjoying a strong moment since the end of January.
But he picked up a knee injury in training last week, and he’s now looking a spell on the sidelines.
Howe doesn’t believe the issue is serious (via Chronicle).
Given the general form of Joelinton and Shelvey since the arrival of Howe, and the very obvious class of Bruno, it would be no surprise if Willock struggled to start another game for the Magpies between now and the end of the season.
Joe Willock may struggle to regain starting berth for Newcastle
When Bruno arrived at Newcastle, Willock always felt like the player most at risk of losing his starting berth.
Now, he’s picked up this knock, and Bruno has oozed class in his absence.
Howe simply can’t take the Brazilian out of the starting XI now. These coming weeks are going to be very important for him in terms of setting him up for next season. He’s made a fantastic start, but still needs to learn about Premier League football.

And Joelinton continues to amaze in his new midfield role.
And with Bruno and Joelinton in there, you need someone like Shelvey to anchor the midfield.
By the time Willock regains his fitness, he may find himself on the fringes.
