Newcastle United star Nick Woltemade should be very pleased with Yoane Wissa’s form over the international break.
Both Woltemade and Wissa are in line to make their Newcastle United debuts when the Premier League returns following the first international break of the season.
Eddie Howe’s side are chasing their first win of the campaign thus far and have been offered a favourable chance here.
Indeed, opponents Wolverhampton Wanderers have lost all three of their games thus far and head to St James’ Park as underdogs.

While they are not to be overlooked, Newcastle have to fancy their chances of claiming all three points at home.
Newcastle fans will no doubt be desperate to see both of their new forwards in action. With the Alexander Isak saga moving into the past now, it’s time to see what the summer recruits can do for the club.
Woltemade, however, should be delighted that Wissa is looking as if he can take the pressure off his shoulders on a relatively immediate basis.

Yoane Wissa eases burden on Nick Woltemade at Newcastle United
Newcastle broke their transfer record to sign Woltemade, so there will be a degree of expectation.
Still, it would be unwise to expect too much too soon from a player with only 70 Bundesliga games behind him.
This is where the ex-Brentford striker comes in. Wissa could be a very important signing for Newcastle, though he is hardly arriving in ideal circumstances.
The DR Congo international hasn’t played a Premier League game since the end of May, although that is surely because of his own doing as he pushed to leave Brentford over the course of the summer.
However, the 29-year-old has shone for his country over the international break. Wissa scored and assisted for DR Congo against South Sudan in a World Cup qualifier, before scoring against Senegal last time out.
That should be a huge boost to Howe, the Newcastle United coaching staff and Woltemade. The prospect of throwing the German in at the deep end, the first game of the post-Isak era no less, was a scary thought.
To see Wissa performing so well for his country is very positive indeed. Despite a lack of action, he still looks very sharp and is hinting that he’s ready to hit the ground running on Tyneside.
Yoane Wissa expected to start over Nick Woltemade
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Wissa is expected to start for Newcastle against Wolves.
Again, it’s not exactly ideal that he’s making a long-haul flight to arrive for what will be his first session at the Newcastle United training ground, but there’s not a lot anyone can do about that.
Having Wissa start feels like something of a safety net for Woltemade.
That’s not to say Wissa is guaranteed to play well of course, just that it seems attacking invention is a lot more likely to come from a Premier League-proven player in this embryonic stage of a new Newcastle United era.
