Eddie Howe must find a solution to the £14m problem that has plagued Newcastle United on Sunday

Newcastle United must rectify their terrible record at Molineux on Sunday when they face Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Magpies are unbeaten so far this season, as Eddie Howe takes his side to a ground that they have not won at in the Premier League since 2011.

Molineux is not a good ground for Newcastle United, and it was the location of a very lucky draw last season. Newcastle and Wolves drew 2-2, with a very kind penalty call allowing the Magpies to return to the North East with a point.

It will be a tough game, even if Wolves have not started the new campaign in the greatest of form. They have won just one point from their opening three Premier League games, but Gary O’Neil has a secret weapon for the clash with Newcastle United.

Hee Chan Hwang has a great record against Newcastle United

Wolves are not currently at their best, but they do have a player who knows how to find the net against Newcastle United in Hwang Hee Chan.

Since joining Wolves in 2021, the South Korea international has made five appearances against the Magpies. In those five games, he has scored four times. There is no English club he has scored more goals against.

Hwang even scored in his last appearance against Newcastle – the 2-2 draw at Molineux last season.

The £14million forward is yet to open his account for the new season, but will have confidence that he can do exactly that when he faces Eddie Howe’s side on Sunday.

Hwang has a knack of finding the net against Newcastle, and Howe must find a way to ensure he does not extend his impressive scoring record this weekend.

Lloyd Kelly could be the answer to Newcastle problem

Hwang has appeared in all four of Wolves’ games this season, and has primarily operated on the right of attack.

That would mean he comes up against Newcastle United’s left-back, who will either be Lloyd Kelly or Lewis Hall. The former has started Newcastle’s previous two Premier League games, while the latter is full of confidence after his performance for England Under-21s on Monday.

We predict that Howe will opt to play Kelly ahead of Hall against Wolves, as he sets his Newcastle team up to be more solid away from home. Kelly is the safer pair of hands, as he is better defensively than Hall.

The 25-year-old is better suited to facing Hwang, and could be the answer to nullifying a player who has caused Newcastle so many problems in recent years.
