Newcastle United are heading to Wembley for the Carabao Cup final later this month, and there will be a display from Wor Flags.

The group have confirmed that they will be involved in the game against Manchester United on February 26th, and that every supporter will have a role to play in the display.

It is already going to be a special weekend in London and a special atmosphere inside Wembley, and now we know that Wor Flags will be in attendance to make the players feel like it is just another raucous game at St James’ Park.

The fan group play a pivotal role in creating the atmosphere inside SJP. Their displays have been incredible ever since their inception, and it is wonderful that they are now back following the change of ownership. Their absence was certainly felt when they decided to stop doing displays after Rafa Benitez’s departure.

But Wor Flags have been back for more than a year now. The flags are waved high in the sky during every home game, and they have even made appearances at Sam Fender’s recent shows.

Now they head to Wembley, and Wor Flags have announced that they have received help from the club ahead of the game against Manchester United.

Newcastle provide funding for Wor Flags’ Wembley display

In a statement on Twitter, Wor Flags have confirmed that the club have agreed to provide significant funding for the display at Wembley.

That is excellent news given the limited time for Wor Flags to raise funds. Their work is done thanks to volunteers and donations, but the cup final is taking exception.

The fact that Newcastle United are happy to contribute towards the bill shows how appreciated Wor Flags are. The Club know exactly how important their role is, and it is going to be really exciting to see what they have planned for the League Cup final.

It is now less than two weeks until the game at Wembley – less than two weeks until we see Newcastle United play in a cup final for the first time since 1999. Thousands of Geordies will be there, and so will Wor Flags.
