Sandro Tonali will be free to play in Newcastle United’s third Premier League game of the season.

The 24-year-old is banned until August 27th, which means he will miss the first two rounds of Premier League fixtures.

But he will be available in week three for Newcastle United, as he aims to quickly make it up to the fans and staff that have supported him during his ban.

It has been a tough period for Sandro Tonali, but the end is in sight, and he now has a definitive fixture to work towards.

Sandro Tonali’s Premier League return for Newcastle United

In their first two games, Newcastle United will play Southampton at home and Bournemouth away.

After that, it is fixture number three against Tottenham Hotspur (at home), which is when Eddie Howe will be able to pick Sandro Tonali for a Premier League match.

It will be the Italian’s first Premier League game since October 21st 2023, when the Magpies beat Crystal Palace 4-0. Tonali appeared off the bench that day, and led the post-match lap of honour in front of the St James’ Park crowd.

Other standout fixtures for Newcastle United in 2024/25

The Magpies are at home on Boxing Day, as they welcome Unai Emery’s Aston Villa to Tyneside.

Newcastle are also at home on the final day of the season, with Everton the opponents at St James’ Park. That is surprising, as that match is normally pencilled in to be a midweek clash underneath the lights.

But it is a tough end to the season for Eddie Howe’s side, who face Manchester United, Aston Villa, Chelsea and Arsenal in four of their final seven games of the season.

February also stands out as a tough month, with Newcastle taking on Manchester City and Liverpool away from home.

Unlike the 2023/24 season, the start of the season is actually quite appealing. Our first five are against Southampton, Bournemouth, Spurs, Wolves and Fulham, before welcoming Premier League champions Man City to the North East.

Heading into that game, we could potentially have put ourselves in a strong position to enjoy a positive campaign. Newcastle also have the added bonus of not having to juggle any European fixtures, which means Howe’s side can go full throttle into every Premier League fixture.

It is a season that kicks off at home against the Saints and ends at home versus the Toffees, with Tonali’s Premier League return possibly coming against Spurs.
