Alexander Isak is closing in on a move to Newcastle United, and fans will be desperate to see him make his Toon debut as soon as possible.
The Sweden international is on the brink of leaving Real Sociedad, who have accepted a deal worth up to £63million for the striker.
The Magpies need him to debut as soon as possible too, given Callum Wilson’s latest injury. He’s set for at least three weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.
That leaves Eddie Howe with just Chris Wood to lead the line against Wolves on Sunday, who scored his first goal of the season in the cup triumph over Tranmere.
But is there a chance that Isak could be in contention to make his Magpies debut this weekend?

If Newcastle get a move on and complete this deal, there’s a chance the 22-year-old could make his debut at Molineux on Sunday.
Premier League regulations dictate that players must be registered before midday on Friday to be eligible to play this weekend.
That means the Magpies have less than 24 hours to get this deal finalised so he can be registered to play against Wolves.
While there’s surely no chance he’ll start, his presence on the bench would be a real boost. And he’d get a sensational reception form the traveling Toon Army at Molineux.
The clock is ticking for Newcastle to get this deal done in time, otherwise he might have to wait until next week when Eddie Howe’s side face Liverpool on August 31st.
According to the Athletic, the club are hopeful that the soon to be record signing can feature in Sunday’s game against Wolves.
Everything appears to be heading in the right direction for that to happen. Isak has landed in England and is now at the training ground to undergo a medical.
This transfer is happening, and it looks like there’s a decent chance he could make his debut as soon as Sunday.
