Newcastle United manager Eddie Howe and Jurgen Klopp will not be going head to head next season.
That is because Jurgen Klopp has announced that he will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the 2023/24 campaign. The news has come completely out of the blue and has shocked the football world.
Klopp is in the final few months of his tenure as Liverpool manager, and will look to go out as a winner. They are challenging for the Premier League title, while they have reached the Carabao Cup final as well. On top of that, they are still in the Europa League and the FA Cup.
It could end up being a special goodbye for the German manager, who has won it all during his time at Anfield.
He has also rattled the cages of Newcastle fans, with a few jibes over the past couple of years that have not gone down well with the Toon Army.
But he has always spoken highly of Eddie Howe, who is someone Liverpool actually considered appointing back in 2015 before Klopp got the job.

Liverpool considered appointing Eddie Howe instead of Jurgen Klopp
In October 2015, Liverpool sacked Brendan Rodgers. Just four days after his exit, the Reds appointed Klopp as his successor.
He was always the leading candidate to replace Rodgers, but the 56-year-old was not the only contender.
According to the Telegraph, Liverpool actually spoke to Eddie Howe to see whether or not he would be a suitable choice as manager. At the time, he was still in charge of Bournemouth.
While Howe was approached about the job, they decided to go with Klopp. And given everything they have achieved since that moment, they can be very happy with their decision.
But it is interesting to look back and see that Howe was actually considered for the job.
He was dubbed the next big thing back in 2015, and now he really is living up to the hype as Newcastle United manager. The job he has done on Tyneside is incredible, and he would eventually love to replicate what Klopp has done at Anfield.
If he does, he will go down as a Newcastle United legend, because that is how Klopp will be remembered by Liverpool supporters given what he has accomplished.
