What Garang Kuol will now be told to do by Newcastle United staff

Garang Kuol hasn’t made much of an impact at Newcastle United.

While it was always unlikely that Kuol was going to come in and instantly shine in the Newcastle United first-team, progress has certainly been slow.

Clearly, young players have to be afforded time to develop – particularly when moving to new places – but the 20-year-old is a senior Australian international who has played in the World Cup.

The forward has struggled out on loan at both Scottish side Hearts and Dutch outlet FC Volendam, while injury denied Kuol a loan exit last summer.

Newcastle have brought Kuol into first-team training at times and he remains on Tyneside, despite having been made available for loan in January.

Now, some fresh insight has emerged.

What Newcastle United will now tell Garang Kuol

According to The Chronicle, there was never a chance Kuol was leaving the club on loan during deadline day earlier this month.

The rumours are said to have been based on enquiries made earlier in the transfer window and now he’s set to be told to work hard to impress Howe by making progress in the Newcastle United U21 team.

Kuol did recently score for the Newcastle U21s, so at least that’s a start.

Garang Kuol must force Eddie Howe into a Newcastle United U-turn

The Newcastle United manager has shown a willingness to use younger players, having brought through the likes of Lewis Miley.

Certainly, it’s not as if Howe seems to turn a blind eye to the youth ranks like some other managers under pressure to deliver now may do.

However, it was reported back in May that Howe simply doesn’t think Kuol is ready for the first-team.

Sadly, little about what the Australian has done since would suggest that is likely to have changed.

An exit may well be in the offing.
