Newcastle United have arguably the best striker in the Premier League right now in Alexander Isak.
The 25-year-old has enjoyed another spectacular season, with Alexander Isak netting 27 goals in all competitions.
His latest strike came in Newcastle’s draw with Brighton, as Isak netted an 89th minute penalty.
He continues to enjoy the best season of his career, while the Newcastle United striker has moved above Erling Haaland in the Premier League goalscoring charts.
While Isak has 23 Premier League goals this season, Haaland sits below him on 21.

Wayne Rooney chooses Between Alexander Isak and Erling Haaland
However, former Premier League striker Wayne Rooney is still adamant that he would rather have Haaland in his team than Isak.
Rooney has appeared on The Overlap Fan Debate on YouTube, and was asked by Jamie Carragher which Premier League forward he would pick in a perfect XI right now.
“Haaland,” he said.
“As good as Isak’s been, I think Haaland has got everything.
“Actually, he’s not the best at heading the ball. That’s the one downfall he’s got. His timing is off a little bit. You can see he gets up too early at times.
“Even this season, the goals he’s scored with the injuries he’s had. He’s the one I would want.”
Alexander Isak is three goals away from Newcastle United milestone
While Rooney may have chosen Haaland over Isak, the Sweden international is still on the verge of making history.
With three games to go, he is three goals away from becoming the first Newcastle United player to score 30 goals in all competitions in a season since Alan Shearer in 1999/2000.
Isak will be eager to achieve that milestone, having scored more than 20 Premier League goals in consecutive seasons. That is something that Shearer never did during his Newcastle United career.
At the start of the season, Emil Krafth backed Isak to score 30 goals. It was an ambitious prediction, particularly when his fellow Swede only scored once in his first seven appearances of the campaign.
After Isak, Newcastle’s next top scorers this season are Anthony Gordon, Harvey Barnes and Jacob Murphy. They are all tied on nine goals each in all competitions, and will be eager to hit double figures.
