Newcastle United fans are very excited to see what Nick Woltemade can do in black and white.
He became Newcastle’s most expensive signing ever during the summer transfer window, with Nick Woltemade arriving from Stuttgart for £69million.
The Toon Army have very high hopes for the 23-year-old, who could make his Newcastle United debut on Saturday against Wolves. However, it is likely that he will be on the bench. That is because Yoane Wissa is expected to start up front.
Eddie Howe will take his time with Woltemade. It will be difficult for a young player like him to adapt to the Premier League, but he certainly has the potential to thrive on Tyneside.
Ahead of his debut, former Premier League striker Troy Deeney has compared Woltemade to someone who netted more than 100 goals in the top flight of English football.

Nick Woltemade is compared to Peter Crouch
Deeney has appeared on the Sports Agents podcast alongside Match of the Day hosts Mark Chapman and Gabby Logan.
They dissected Newcastle’s summer transfer business, with Deeney admitting he sees a lot of similarities between Woltemade and Peter Crouch.
“The things I’ve seen of him, he reminds me of Peter Crouch,” he said.
“He’s Crouchy. He’s big, he’s rangy, but he’s actually really good with his feet. He’s not a target man.
“He doesn’t actually score a great deal when you do the deep dive into it. I think that’s why you get Wissa in.
“I think he’ll be great in Europe. But I think there will be games we see him play as a 10, with Wissa stretching the pitch behind him because he [Woltemade] brings people into play.”
How tall is Peter Crouch compared to Nick Woltemade?
The main similarity between Woltemade and Crouch is height.
Newcastle’s new striker is incredibly tall, coming in at 6ft 6in. That makes him one inch smaller than Toon centre-back Dan Burn.
It also makes him slightly smaller than Crouch, who is 6ft 7in as well.
Crouch’s height made him a demon in the air during his career. He scored 53 out of his 108 Premier League goals with his head, which is more than any other player. Second on the list is Alan Shearer, with the Newcastle United legend scoring 46 headers in the Premier League.
Toon fans will not care how Woltemade scores his goals, as long as he provides plenty of them. That is the aim, as he replaces Alexander Isak at St James’ Park.
