Newcastle United have reportedly had a bid accepted for Hugo Ekitike.
The French striker was linked with the Magpies earlier in the window, as we looked to sign a Callum Wilson replacement.
Chris Wood did arrive, but attempts to sign Ekitike fell short. However, Newcastle have reignited their interest on deadline day, and it looks like this could be a goer.

It was first reported that the Magpies had made a new offer for the 19-year-old. Now Sky Sports are reporting that the bid has been accepted by Stade Reims.
Ekitike will reportedly cost Newcastle between £20million and £25million. There will also be add-ons on top of that. According to the Chronicle’s Lee Ryder, the deal includes £8million in bonuses, taking it to a total value of £33million.
Race is on to make Hugo Ekitike a Newcastle player

The clock is now ticking to get this deal done. Obviously the fact he plays in France complicates matters. But having a bid accepted early in the day is encouraging.
Newcastle have until 11pm to complete the deal. Ekitike would be the second striker to arrive at St James’ Park this month.
He’s an incredibly exciting player, and one who has been likened to Kylian Mbappe. Ekitike is enjoying a great season in Ligue 1, scoring eight goals and providing three assists.

Newcastle could be landing a star of the future, and beating a Premier League rival in the process. It was reported recently that West Ham were looking to complete a deal for the Frenchman. However, it now looks like he is Toon-bound once again.
The Magpies’ move for Ekitike surely signals an end to our Eddie Nketiah pursuit. He was linked with Newcastle late last week by the Telegraph, but that move appears to be off.
Fabrizio Romano has stated that the Gunners youngster will not be leaving the Emirates today.
