Many Newcastle United fans were left fuming last night, as it was announced that the arbitration hearing has been adjourned until ‘early 2022’.

The club released a short statement last night to inform supporters of the news.

The parties had attended a hearing in the case between the club and the Premier League.

But it has now been put back on account of there being issues with the disclosure of evidence. Those issues are understood to involve both parties (BBC Sport).

It comes after pressure has been steadily mounting on the Premier League.

Newcastle recently put out a statement calling for the arbitration to be held in public.

Amanda Staveley of PCP Capital Partners has conducted a few interviews in the mainstream media reiterating the message.

It seemed there has been a collective effort from the consortium and Mike Ashley to try and clear the obstacles to get the takeover over the line.

But the situation will now play out for even longer.
