Newcastle United players are helping Tino Livramento without even realising.
The Magpies have got their first choice right-back sorted for the foreseeable future, and will be delighted that they drafted Tino Livramento in when they did.
He arrived from Southampton last summer for £32million, becoming one of Newcastle’s most expensive signings in the process.
At the time, it felt like a lot of money to spend on a player who would not be a regular starter to begin with. After all, he was joining a team that also had Kieran Trippier.
But Newcastle were investing in their future, bringing in Trippier’s replacement well in advance.

The immediate hope was that Livramento would grow and develop as a player on Tyneside, with Trippier almost acting as a mentor to the young defender.
The advice he has given and the examples he has set have clearly made a difference, as Livramento is proving to be an outstanding player – and someone who can still get even better.
Livramento is under no illusions about the impact Trippier has had on him, and has told TalkSPORT that the 33-year-old has helped him without even realising.
“Obviously getting to know Tripps from the start of last season,” he said.
“He has done loads for me, probably without him even realising.
“Someone that you can, similar obviously same position and someone I can just look at every day, how he trains.
“So yeah, subliminally he has done a lot for me.”
Livramento’s comments sum up how important Trippier is to Newcastle
The plan was for Livramento to learn from Trippier, and he has certainly done that.
The 21-year-old is full of praise for Trippier, and it sums up just how important the £12million man is on Tyneside.
Trippier has been absolutely pivotal to the club since he joined in January 2022, and it is understandable why Eddie Howe was adamant that he could not leave this summer.
Newcastle will not let Trippier leave before January, amid uncertainty over his future. He is interested in a move away, but it does not look like he will get his wish.
While that might disappoint Trippier, it should delight his teammates. The role he has behind the scenes is massive, leading by example with his work on the training ground.
He has certainly helped Livramento, and hopefully he can pass that wisdom on to someone else in the future.
