Newcastle United summer signing Tino Livramento is already blown away by how good one of his teammates is in training – and unsurprisingly it is Kieran Trippier.
Livramento has been with the Magpies for almost a month now, and has made one appearance for his new club. That came off the bench during the 1-0 defeat to Manchester City.
Shortly after arriving, the 20-year-old admitted that Trippier’s presence was a big reason why he decided to join Eddie Howe’s side. Livramento wanted to learn from the England international, with the view to eventually taking his place in the Newcastle XI when the time comes.
That will be the aim for Livramento, and he has got the perfect mentor in Trippier. The £12million man is the ultimate professional on and off the pitch, and he is already teaching Livramento a thing or two at the training ground.
Tino Livramento inspired by Kieran Trippier at Newcastle
Ahead of Newcastle’s game against Brighton, Livramento spoke to NUFC TV. He was asked what he has learned from Trippier during his first few weeks as a Toon player.

“His leadership,” he said.
“You don’t see it or hear it a lot obviously because of the crowds at games. But the way he leads in training and in games is hopefully something I can take and put into my game.
“I think his quality on the ball, when you see it in games you think ‘yeah’, but when you’re in training everyday and you see it, I just want to reach those levels and learn from him. It’s inspiring to see that everyday.”
Perfect player to learn from for Livramento
Livramento is very lucky that he gets to learn from Trippier each and every day. The youngster is already a very good footballer, but he will go to the next level under the veteran’s guidance.
That just sums up how important Trippier is to Newcastle. He did not come here for a pay day. He came here to build something.

Trippier was a transformative signing by the new owners, and his impact will still be felt after he leaves the club, whenever that may be. Hopefully it is not for a long time, but Newcastle do at least have his replacement ready and waiting.
Livramento knows his role right now. He is a sponge, tasked with soaking up every bit of wisdom Trippier passes down to him. He is already doing just that, and hopefully it shows when we get to see more of him in a black and white shirt.
