Newcastle United have some big contract decisions to make in the coming months.
The Magpies have already agreed contract extensions with Emil Krafth and Martin Dubravka, while Newcastle want Alexander Isak to sign a new contract too.
His situation will be addressed in the summer, with Newcastle willing to make Isak their highest paid player.
While Newcastle want to tie Isak down and secure his future, there are other players whose situations are more pressing – those whose deals are due to expire at the end of the season.

Jamaal Lascelles on course to leave Newcastle United
That includes Jamaal Lascelles, who has been absent for a year due to an ACL injury.
Despite his injury, Lascelles lifted the Carabao Cup at Wembley alongside Bruno Guimaraes and Kieran Trippier. It was a classy gesture, as Lascelles is still the club captain at St James’ Park despite Bruno taking the armband on the pitch.
Following the cup final, Toon co-owner Jamie Reuben described Lascelles as a ‘titan of the club’. However, the 31-year-old’s time as a leader could be coming to an end.
That is according to the Athletic’s Chris Waugh, who has written in a Q&A that there is a ‘decent chance’ of Lascelles leaving Newcastle United when his contract expires this summer.
While Waugh insists that a departure for Lascelles is not guaranteed at this moment in time, he has hinted that it is a very real possibility – especially with Newcastle planning to sign a centre-back when the summer transfer window opens.
The other Newcastle United players whose contracts are expiring
The biggest name whose Newcastle United contract is expiring is Fabian Schar.
Eddie Howe is desperate to keep Schar, with the 33-year-old set to extend his stay on Tyneside. It feels like it will not be too long before his new deal is confirmed.
In contrast, Callum Wilson’s future appears to lie away from St James’ Park. Newcastle can extend Wilson’s contract for another 12 months, but it would be a surprise if he remained on Tyneside.
Elsewhere, John Ruddy and Mark Gillespie are in the final few months of their contracts. Neither goalkeeper has played for Newcastle United this season.
Finally, Jamal Lewis is on course to become a free agent, five years after arriving at St James’ Park from Norwich City for £15million.
