The Newcastle squad has undergone some huge changes throughout the 2024 summer transfer window.
As Newcastle United look to build upon their seventh-place finish last season, Eddie Howe has refreshed his first-team squad this summer with a number of incomings and outgoings.
The Magpies acted quickly in the window to secure the services of Lloyd Kelly, John Ruddy, Odysseas Vlachodimos and Miodrag Pivas as well as the permanent signing of Lewis Hall.
Newcastle have also been busy in terms of departures as well, with the likes of Elliot Anderson and Yankuba Minteh both having to be sold to avoid PSR punishments.
There have also been several contract exits with a total of 14 players having left the club this summer at the time of writing.
So that begs the question as to where are Newcastle’s summer departees now?
Elliot Anderson – Nottingham Forest
Elliot Anderson’s £35m departure to Nottingham Forest was an unwanted but necessary sale, to avoid PSR sanctions.
It will be interesting to see how the Newcastle academy graduate gets on under Nuno Espirito Santo.

Yankuba Minteh – Brighton & Hove Albion
Much similar to the Anderson transfer, many Toon fans did not want to see Minteh leave the club following his impressive loan spell at Feyenoord last season.
The Gambia attacker will likely thrive on the south coast under new Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler.
Matt Ritchie – Portsmouth
One of the most high-profile Newcastle exits this summer, Matt Ritchie left the Magpies following the expiration of his contract.
Ritchie has since signed for Championship new boys Portsmouth on a two-year deal, returning to the club where he made his professional debut.

Paul Dummett – Free agent
After 14 years and 213 appearances, Dummett’s time at Newcastle United eventually came to an end this summer.
The defender is still currently looking for a new club following his Toon exit, with Championship outfit Sheffield United reportedly interested – according to TEAMtalk.
Loris Karius – Free agent
Following two appearances in two years at St James’ Park, the German shot-stopper was unsurprisingly let go this summer – he is yet to find himself a new home since his Tyneside departure.
Jeff Hendrick – Free agent
Arriving from Burnley in 2020, Hendrick’s Newcastle career never got going, spending the majority of his Toon career out on loan.
He most recently spent time out on loan at Sheffield Wednesday but is yet to find himself a permanent move following the expiration of his Toon deal.
Kelland Watts – Cambridge United
The Alnwick-born defender left the Magpies this summer after making one first-team appearance during his six-year spell at the club.
The 24-year-old has since signed for League One outfit Cambridge United.

Matty Bondswell – Free agent
Having joined Newcastle from RB Leipzig back in 2021, Bondswell’s Magpies career failed to flourish, most recently spending time out on loan at Newport County.
The youngster is yet to find a new club.
Kyle Crossley – South Shields
Following his Newcastle departure, the 19-year-old attacker was snapped by local non-league outfit South Shields – joining up with former Magpies coach Elliot Dickman.
Amadou Diallo – Free agent
Diallo arrived on Tyneside in 2022 from the West Ham academy, he would go on to make one first-team appearance for Newcastle.
He is currently without a club.
Jordan Hackett – Free agent
The former Spurs academy star failed to make a senior appearance on Tyneside, he is yet to find a new employer.
Michael Ndiweni – Free agent
The Throckley-born attacker spent last season on loan in Scotland with Annan Atheltic.
Since his Toon departure, he has gone on trial with a number of local north-east clubs including Steve Watson’s Darlington – according to The Northern Echo.

Jude Smith – Carlisle United
Smith joined from East Fife in 2022, failing to make a senior appearance. He has since signed for League Two outfit Carlisle United.
Dylan Stephenson – Dagenham & Redbridge
The attacker spent the last six months of last season on loan at South Shields and he was expected to make his move permanent but he has since joined National League side Dagenham & Redbridge.
