Sky News have reported about a letter from Amanda Staveley to Tracey Crouch.
In it, Staveley claims that the administrator of the sport’s top flight has raised ‘an effective shield against public scrutiny’.
She has also accused the Premier League of a ‘closely guarded lack of transparency’.
Staveley is part of the consortium involving her firm, PCP Capital Partners, and Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) interested in buying Newcastle.
It also includes the Reuben Brothers but withdrew its offer for the club following an elongated Owners and Directors’ Test.
Hopes of a takeover remain alive however, with Premier League arbitration and a Competition Appeal Tribunal case both still active.
There are hopes that this letter will provoke more transparency in the process.
While that remains to be seen, Crouch issued her own response to Newcastle fans on Twitter.
We’ve gathered some of the replies and the gist is that Newcastle supporters don’t want any of their own abusing anyone. They want transparency and answers.
