Newcastle United youngster Garang Kuol is on the move again, and will hope this loan proves to be more successful than his last.
Eddie Howe stated last week that the Aussie was due to go out on loan again, with Dutch side Volendam set to take the teenager on a temporary deal.
That move was confirmed on Monday, with the Eredivisie club announcing the arrival of Kuol on a season-long loan.
It comes after a difficult first six months on British shores. Immediately after joining Newcastle in January, the 18-year-old signed for Hearts on loan.
It looked like a sensible move given the Aussie contingent at Tynecastle, but Kuol really struggled for minutes north of the border. He did not make much of an impression, but did admit that he enjoyed his time in Edinburgh regardless.

However, this move needs to be much more successful for Kuol, who did not impress some people at Newcastle during his first loan spell away from St James’ Park.
Garang Kuol was a ‘disappointment’ at Hearts
According to the Daily Mail reporter Craig Hope, some people inside were disappointed with how Kuol performed during his loan spell at Hearts.
He wrote on Twitter: “Garang Kuol has joined Dutch Eredivisie side FC Volendam on a season-long loan. There was disappointment among some inside Newcastle at his minimal impact at Hearts. Needs to show a lot more this time.”
Fresh chance for the Newcastle teenager
Hopefully things are different for him at Volendam. He will at least have the benefit of having a full season there, rather than joining midway through the campaign like he did with Hearts.
Newcastle have sent Kuol to Volendam because of the Eredivisie’s reputation for nurturing young talent, with the hope that the forward can gain some valuable experience and really start to show signs of development.

There is a huge amount of hype surrounding the youngster, but he is still very inexperienced. That is why Newcastle need to be especially careful with him.
This loan move is a bit more low profile than his first, and that will hopefully help. Fingers crossed this time next year we are singing Kuol’s praises and talking about how much he has improved during his year in the Netherlands.
