The last player who Newcastle United signed from Arsenal was Joe Willock, and now they are looking at another.
But while Joe Willock had an immediate impact at St James’ Park, this target is one for the future.
18-year-old Amario Cozier-Duberry is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season, and he is someone who Toon officials have their eye on. It was recently reported that the Magpies are interested in signing the teenager, while Borussia Dortmund are another club that are keen.
Now transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on the situation, as Arsenal look to retain the services of a player who they believe can be just like Bukayo Saka in the coming years.

Newcastle on standby for Arsenal winger
According to Romano, Newcastle are one of multiple clubs who are showing an interest in Cozier-Duberry, while the Gunners are aiming to give him a new contract.
He wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter): “Arsenal are still in negotiations to get new deal done for English 2005 born talent Amario Cozier-Duberry. Talks ongoing. Borussia Dortmund, Ajax, Anderlecht, Wolves and Newcastle are showing interest for free transfer in June — in case talks with #AFC collapse.”
Cozier-Duberry could save Newcastle millions
Cozier-Duberry is a winger who usually plays on the right. He is enjoying a very strong season at Premier League 2 level, boasting five goals and two assists from eight appearances.
The youngster also scored two goals in the UEFA Youth League, while he has been on the bench at senior level in the Champions League and the Carabao Cup.
He is an exciting talent, and someone who Arsenal will be keen to retain. As for Newcastle, right wing is a position they have already addressed at youth level. First Garang Kuol arrived, then the club bought Yankuba Minteh. He was a major investment considering his age, costing £6million.
Now Cozier-Duberry is another potential recruit, but it feels like a lot of dominoes will need to fall for this deal to become a reality. Arsenal are still discussing a new deal with him, while there are plenty of major clubs eyeing up his signature if those negotiations collapse.
