Newcastle United have no plans to sell their star players this summer.

However, that will not stop suitors trying to tempt Newcastle United’s best players away from St James’ Park.

Liverpool want Alexander Isak, but the Magpies have no intention of letting him leave. Instead, they want the striker to sign a new contract.

Elsewhere, there are also persistent rumours about Sandro Tonali ending his Newcastle United career after two seasons and returning to Italy.

Sandro Tonali contacted about Newcastle United exit

Those rumours have continued, with Italian outlet Tuttomercatoweb making a fresh claim about the 24-year-old’s Toon future.

According to Tuttomercatoweb, Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has contacted Tonali’s representatives about whether it would be possible to bring him to Turin.

Unfortunately for Juventus, Newcastle will not sell Tonali. There is no chance of him returning to Serie A, despite the Italian media’s desire for a comeback.

More to come from Sandro Tonali at Newcastle United

After spending the majority of his first season suspended, Tonali is now loving life on Tyneside.

He has become one of Eddie Howe’s most important players, making Newcastle United tick in the middle of the park.

According to former Newcastle United player Matt Ritchie, Tonali has ‘everything’. Having trained alongside him last season, Ritchie is adamant that there is still even more to come from the Italy international.

“He’s [Tonali] got everything, for me,” Ritchie told Sky Sports.

“As I say, the way he gets around the pitch is so tenacious. He’s aggressive, he’s got a passing range like you wouldn’t believe.

“We haven’t seen the best of it yet, actually. He can find a pass with those long diagonals.”

Howe will be delighted with the impact that Tonali has had this season. He has allowed Newcastle to change the way that they play, with Bruno Guimaraes free to influence the game higher up the pitch.

We have also seen more of Tonali in the final third in recent weeks. He has got eight goal contributions in total this season, with three of them coming in the Magpies’ previous five games.

If Tonali can score one more goal before the 2024/25 campaign comes to end, it will be the best scoring season of his career. He currently has five goals, which is the same total that he managed for AC Milan in the 2021/22 season.
