Newcastle United winger Ryan Fraser has praised the club’s influential manager Eddie Howe for making positive changes throughout the club.

The Magpies made it four wins in five games with a 2-0 win against 10-man Brentford yesterday.

The win against Thomas Frank’s side extended our Premier League unbeaten run to seven Premier League games.

Fraser, who set up Newcastle’s opener at the Brentford Community Stadium which came via the head of Joelinton, has started the last nine Premier League games.

The Scotland international’s importance in Howe’s side looks to be growing with every passing week.

Things could have been awkward for Fraser when Howe arrived on Tyneside.

The pair previously worked together at Bournemouth, where the Cherries climbed the Football League to reach the promise land of English football.

But their relationship took a big hit in the 2019/20 campaign. Bournemouth were battling relegation, while the pandemic put football on hold.

But when Project Restart commenced, Fraser was nowhere to be seen. The winger decided to not play for the Vitality Stadium side anymore, as his contract on the south coast expired.

He joined the Toon Army on a free, while Howe’s side were relegated to the Championship.

It was a move that didn’t go down well. Pundit Simon Jordan even called Fraser a ‘turd’ on TalkSPORT.

However, all seems to be forgiven and the pair are proving to be a fruitful partnership once again.

Ryan Fraser has praised his boss for the galvanising impact he’s had since taking the reins in November.

Speaking on Match of the Day, Fraser said: “It’s been unbelievable. There was a lot of talk when I left Bournemouth, but we’ve always kept a really good relationship and the type of manager and person he is – he’s came in and changed everything.

“Philosophy, togetherness, team spirit – every little thing you can think of he’s came in and changed – to walking into the training ground and seeing things up on the wall that inspire you in the morning.

“Honesty, I could keep you here for days to tell you what he’s changed and it’s been absolutely brilliant. And the lads have taken to it and not looked back really.”
