Rio Ferdinand has tipped Newcastle to beat the drop after the weekend win over Brentford, speaking on his FIVE YouTube channel.
That victory took the Magpies up above their weekend hosts and into 14th, four points clear of the final relegation place.
Ferdinand predicted the teams which will go down at the end of the season but left Newcastle out of it after their impressive recovery.

“Brentford could go down. Norwich are done. I think Burnley get out of it and I think Brentford or Leeds go down,” said Ferdinand.
“Momentum is key right now. I agree that (Watford will also be relegated).
“Can Eriksen have an impact at Brentford? Great to see him back by the way after the summer. Good to see that.”
Ferdinand backed the Magpies to stay up during the January window, but he has already been proven wrong about a claim about Steve Bruce.

When the takeover came in, Ferdinand said that Steve Bruce should have been given the chance to spend some of the new wealth.
But while Howe has galvanised the club and taken them to a position where they look like staying up with months to go, Bruce is struggling at West Brom.
The Baggies went down 2-0 against Swansea last night and sit 13th, with no wins in their last five league games as their bid to make an instant return to the top flight continues to flounder.
Who would you rather have had spending the money? It’s an easy call and one Ferdinand got wrong, but he has at least realised it now and acknowledged the momentum Newcastle have now.
