Ex-Newcastle boss Steve Bruce reportedly wants to be Manchester United manager.

That’s right. Steve Bruce, the man recently sacked by the Magpies, wants to manage the Red Devils.

That’s according to the Athletic, who have provided an in-depth look at who could replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Old Trafford.

The Norwegian was sacked on Sunday morning after a humiliating 4-1 defeat to Watford the day before.

Big names have been linked such as Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane. So will they really go for Brucey instead?

The Athletic state Bruce is very keen to be Solskjaer’s replacement. They add that he believes he can help ‘stabilise the dressing room’.

This comes just a month after he was sacked by the new Newcastle United owners.

Seeing Bruce as Manchester United manger would be magical. Seeing him do what he did at Newcastle on a grander stage would be special. The Bruce-defenders in the media wouldn’t know what to do with themselves.

Newcastle have replace Bruce with Eddie Howe, and already look a lot better under the 43-year-old. The new manager has already had a huge impact on the players and the fans.
