Some Newcastle United fans have been showering praise on Jonjo Shelvey for his performance against Brentford yesterday.
The club once again failed to win, but showed good character to come from behind in the game twice to take a point.

Jamaal Lascelles, Joelinton and Allan Saint-Maximin were the scorers for the hosts, who had 23 shots in total.
Newcastle actually looked pretty good offensively.
Unfortunately, the porous defence was again the downfall.
It was good though to see everybody playing with the intensity and urgency that was lacking so much under the previous manager.
One man who had a pretty decent outing yesterday, was Jonjo Shelvey.

The £13 million midfielder has often been criticised during his time at St. James’ Park.
Some often say that, as good as he can be on the ball, he doesn’t work hard enough and that he doesn’t press.
It was always going to be interesting to see how he would respond to Eddie Howe’s arrival.
Howe had actually sang Shelvey’s praises in the build-up to the game, branding him ‘an incredible technician’.
Well yesterday, he was one of Newcastle’s best players, and seemed to be busting a gut much more than usual.
