Report provides update on Newcastle’s deal with Castore ahead of next season

Castore currently make Newcastle United’s kits, but it has been speculated that a change to Adidas could be on the horizon.

However, it doesn’t look like that will be happening any time soon. That is because the Times claim that Castore will once again make the Newcastle kits for the 2023/24 season.

It will be their third year of being the Magpies’ kit supplier, having replaced Puma in 2021.

News of Castore continuing to work with Newcastle will disappoint some supporters, as there have been plenty of calls to change the manufacturer.

Tongues were certainly wagging earlier in the season when it was reported by the Telegraph that Adidas officials were at St James’ Park for the Leicester City game in January. Fans would love it if Adidas returned, as the German brand made some of the clubs most iconic shirts in the 1990s and early 2000s.

However, Castore are going nowhere for now, and already have one jersey planned for next season.

Castore already have one Newcastle kit planned for next season

The Times add that Castore will once again make a ‘Saudi’ Newcastle kit for the 2023/24 campaign.

This comes after the white and green away shirt that they produced this season. Its unveiling sparked huge controversy, and raised fresh questions about PIF’s involvement and sportswashing.

However, a similar kit will be hitting the shelves this summer, with the Times stating that PIF want Newcastle to embrace their Saudi Arabian owners and become the most popular club in the Middle East.

The kit will be different to this season’s, however, as FUN88 will no longer be the Magpies’ shirt sponsor. This is their final season with the club, and a replacement will be announced in the coming months. As it stands, it is unclear who will succeed the Chinese betting company as Newcastle’s main shirt sponsor.

But it looks like that will be the only change to Newcastle’s kits next season. Castore will make them once again, and one of them will be a Saudi-inspired shirt.
