Newcastle United are going to be the subject of a documentary in the coming months, and i News have provided an update about the project that is currently going on behind the scenes at St James’ Park.
It has been rumoured for a while that the Magpies could hit streaming services in the near future, with the likes of Amazon wanting to produce a series about the club’s dramatic upturn in fortunes.
This is the perfect season to cover, with Eddie Howe’s side reaching the Carabao Cup final and in contention to qualify for the Champions League.
Now we know that a documentary is in the works, with Sky Sports reporter Keith Downie telling fans on Wednesday that a camera crew is currently filming a four-part series that will be shown on Amazon in the near future.
Now i News have provided more details as Newcastle United prepare to hit the big screen…or little screen depending on the size of your television.

Why Newcastle United are doing the documentary, Amazon claim
According to i News, the documentary will not be part of Amazon’s All Or Nothing series like the ones about Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. The report adds that it might not even air on Amazon.
While the service that will host the documentary is unknown, the reasons for it being filmed are seemingly clear.
The report states that it is part of the club’s plan to boost their profile and increase commercial revenue that is coming in. Those are big factors with regards to financial fair play, as the more money you generate means the more money you can spend on new players.
Fans will be extremely excited to watch the series when it is released – especially if this season ends with celebration. Regardless, it will be must-watch for Toon supporters, as this has been a spectacular campaign.
It will be great to see the changes that are going on behind the scenes, and get a closer look at how Eddie Howe has galvanised this group of players and turned them into European contenders.
