Newcastle United are still reportedly interested in signing former Liverpool defender Ozan Kabak.
That’s according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who claims that the Magpies are yet to make an official offer for the 21-year-old.
However, one club has made a bid – Serie A outfit Torino.
Romano claims that the Turin side have made a move for Kabak, offering €1.5million to take the defender on loan with an option to buy.

Alas, Schalke have reportedly rejected the bid as they want Kabak to leave permanently.
That means the door is still open for Newcastle to swoop in, but it looks like they’ll need to find some cash and do a permanent deal like they did for Joe Willock.
Time running out for Ozan Kabak and Newcastle
There is just one week left of the summer transfer window.
Newcastle have just seven days to boost their squad and give fans a reason to believe they’ll stay up this season. However, that might not happen, with claims the Magpies won’t be signing any more players.

Time is running out for Newcastle, and it’s also running out for Kabak.
He clearly has no future at Schalke, who were relegated from the Bundesliga last season.
His loan move to Liverpool didn’t go to plan, with Jurgen Klopp opting against signing him permanently.
But while he hardly dazzled at Anfield, he would be a welcome arrival in the North East. We need all the help we can get right now, particularly at the back.
Kabak fits the profile of a player Mike Ashley would want – he’s young and has stacks of potential.

Newcastle nearly signed him in January, only to miss out to Liverpool. This time they will likely face less competition, with Kabak seemingly struggling to get a move away from Schalke.
With just one week remaining in the transfer window, Bruce needs to be backed. He needs a defender, and with options limited, Kabak could be our best bet.
