According to the Chronicle, there has been a ‘buzz’ around the Newcastle United training ground since reports emerged of a Joe Willock deal being agreed.
On Sunday evening, multiple outlets claimed that the Magpies have agreed a fee to sign the midfielder permanently from Arsenal.
According to the Athletic, Willock will cost in excess of £20million.
All that is left is personal terms and a medical. That’s all that is separating Joe Willock and a Newcastle United comeback.
It’s taken a long, long time, but it finally looks like Steve Bruce is going to get his first signing of the summer. And it seems all but certain that it will be his number one target.
It has been essential all summer that we re-sign Willock. He was sensational last season, scoring eight goals in just 14 games.
He even equalled Alan Shearer’s Newcastle record of scoring in seven consecutive Premier League games.

The midfielder became a key player at St James’ Park, scoring hugely important goals.
During his incredible scoring run, he scored late goals against Tottenham, Liverpool and West Ham.
He was a super-sub last season, but will be hoping he’s more than that when he returns.
Allan Saint-Maximin is one player who will be definitely excited by Willock’s potential return, having told the club to sign more players like him back in May.
