Newcastle United managerial target Paulo Fonseca is reported to be back on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar.

This afternoon, reports have been surfacing about Nuno Espirito Santo.

The 47-year-old is under mounting pressure following a fifth Premier League defeat of the season yesterday.

Spurs lost 3-0 to Manchester United, and the fans are far from happy with what they’ve been seeing.

The Telegraph are reporting Nuno is already facing the sack.

And according to the Mirror, Fonseca has now moved into the frame.

Spurs held talks with him in the summer as they sought to replace Jose Mourinho, but a move ultimately didn’t come to fruition.

Fonseca has been heavily linked with replacing Steve Bruce at Newcastle over the last couple of weeks.

It was recently claimed that the 48-year-old had impressed Amanda Staveley during talks.

It has gone a bit quiet on him in recent days, with Lucien Favre, Roberto Martinez or Eric ten Hag seemingly more likely now.

Newcastle might need to get a move on

If Fonseca is who the new owners would like to replace Bruce, then a decision needs to be made soon.

And not just because Nuno might be getting sacked by Spurs.

But because Newcastle, who lost once again yesterday, are now crying out for an appointment.

Yesterday against Chelsea was pitiful, and Newcastle are in a world of trouble at the moment.
