Newcastle United have reportedly launched a bid to sign Jens Cajuste from Midtjylland.
That’s according to RMC Sport (via GFFN), who claim the Magpies have offered an initial fee of around €14million, plus €2million in bonuses.
In total, that translates to about £13.5million.
It would be another sizeable transfer for the Magpies, amid claims they have agreed a £20million plus fee for Joe Willock.

If recent reports are to be believed, Newcastle clearly want to invest in their midfield.
It was claimed yesterday by L’Equipe that we had offered £12million to sign Boubacar Kamara from Marseille. However, that bid was rejected.
Newcastle clearly want a more defensive-minded midfielder as well, which is why we are pursuing Kamara and Cajuste. But will either arrive?

Newcastle reportedly make Jens Cajuste bid but face competition
Newcastle aren’t the only club chasing Cajuste.
RMC Sport state that Ligue 1 side Rennes have had three bids for the 22-year-old rejected.
Meanwhile, Brentford have recently been linked.
Regardless, Cajuste would be a great signing for the Magpies. The youngster can protect the defence, and is great at winning back possession.
Cajuste plays his club football in Denmark for Midtjylland, and also represented Sweden at Euro 2020.

At 22 he’s still only young, and clearly has room for improvement. This is the kind of signing Newcastle want. But will our offer be accepted?
It was recently claimed that Midtjylland want around £13million for Cajuste. Is this a rare instance where we haven’t lowballed a club with a ridiculous offer well below the asking price? We shall wait and see.
