Newcastle’s U23s are currently on their winter break, but once they return, the outcomes of contracts will be decided. There are a few contracts within the squad that run out at the start of the year including Brad Cross.

Lethal striker Dylan Stephenson’s deal runs out in the summer, so that will look to be extended.

However, it appears that Rosaire Longelo will not be getting a new deal on Tyneside. In 2018 the Magpies picked up Longelo on a free after his contract with West Ham ran out.

Crawley Town eyeing up the winger considered not first team level

Since joining the Newcastle U23’s Longelo has made 55 appearances, providing seven goals and four assists. This form over a three year period has been deemed by the club to not be good enough to break into the first team.

However, it seems that Crawley Town is one EFL side that has a potential interest in the winger. According to the Chronicle, scouts from Crawley were at the U23s match against Sunderland to watch the Toon youngster.

Considering that he is now 22-years-old, Longelo is starting an important stage in his career where he needs to kick on. Perhaps a move to League Two is where his next journey lays.

Brother to an exciting Premier League prospect

Rosaire’s younger brother Emmanuel Longelo is currently on the books at West Ham. The 20-year-old plays at left-back for the Hammers and appears to be an exciting prospect for them.

Longelo (Emmanuel) started against Dinamo Zagreb in their final Europa League group stage game. West Ham fielded many youngsters in a 1-0 defeat, with the full-back performing the best of all the Hammers youngsters.

Whilst it doesn’t seem Rosaire Longelo is set to become a Premier League star anytime soon, he’s been sought after by the likes of Crawley Town.

Furthermore, Longelo has a long way to go in his career at 22-years-old. But for now, it seems the winger will have to prove himself elsewhere.
