You’ll struggle to find a Newcastle fan who doesn’t want Joe Willock to return to the club next season.
But as it stands, this Sunday’s game against Fulham will be the youngster’s last for the Magpies.
However, there is hope that he will come back.
Toon fans made it very clear what they want, serenading Willock with chorus after chorus of ‘we want you to stay’ on Wednesday night.
It was Willock’s first Newcastle game in front of fans, and he capped it off with his sixth goal in six games. He’s now scored seven in total.
He’s been a wonderful signing, and a player we need to capture permanently.
According to the Telegraph, Newcastle will make an offer to sign Willock.
They also claim that Arsenal are open to selling. In fact, they already have plans for the money they could receive.
The Telegraph state that the Willock money would be used to fund Martin Odegaard’s return.
That would suggest that Arsenal are very serious about selling the 21-year-old.
Now it is up to Newcastle to find the money. He will reportedly cost around £20million, which would make him one of the most expensive signings in the club’s history.
