Newcastle United fans absolutely adore Rafa Benitez, but he could soon be coming up against the Magpies.
That was a sentence we said in the summer of 2021, when he got the Everton job. However, he never ended up facing Newcastle, as he was sacked shortly before a reunion.
But it is true once again, with Benitez eyeing a return to Premier League management. He has been out of work since the Toffees got rid of him in January of last year.
Now it looks like he is ready to make a comeback, and has been doing the rounds in the media over the past week. He covered Newcastle’s game against Liverpool for Sky Sports, watching on as Eddie Howe’s unbeaten Premier League run came to an end.
While Rafa will be delighted by what is happening at Newcastle now, he has eyes on two other jobs in the Premier League.

Rafa Benitez interested in the Leeds United job
There are currently two jobs available in the Premier League – Leeds United and Southampton. Benitez is keen on one of them, with TalkSPORT reporting that the Spaniard is interested in replacing Jesse Marsch at Elland Road.
Whether he gets the chance to remains to be seen, as they are now being heavily linked with former Watford boss Javi Gracia.
If Benitez does miss out on the Leeds job, he has another opportunity within his sights.
West Ham job could also be available soon with David Moyes on the brink
West Ham are still managed by David Moyes, but his future at the London Stadium is in serious doubt right now. The Hammers lost to Tottenham at the weekend, and remain embroiled in a relegation battle.
A defeat to Nottingham Forest in their next game could reportedly see Moyes lose his job, and the Daily Mail report that Benitez is on standby if that happens.
They add that he is interested in becoming West Ham manager – a job he nearly took back in 2015 before he was given the gig at Real Madrid.
Interestingly, the Daily Mail dispute TalkSPORT’s claim that the 62-year-old fancies a move to Leeds.
Whichever team does get Benitez will be getting a top class manager, and a person who Toon fans absolutely love. We recently spoke to West Ham fan site Hammers News, and explained what he would bring to the London Stadium.
He would provide the same qualities at Elland Road, and whoever appoints him will certainly fancy their chances of avoiding relegation from the Premier League.
