England have some sensational right-backs at the moment, and that includes Newcastle United star Kieran Trippier.
The 33-year-old is enjoying another brilliant season for Newcastle, having been named player of the season last year.
He has picked up where he left off, and has played an important role in the Magpies enjoying a decent start to the campaign. The £12million man has continued to prove how valuable he is at both ends of the pitch, boasting seven assists in all competitions already.
His numbers are exceptional, while he has created more chances than any other player in the Premier League this season.
Trippier has been outstanding, and features in Thomas Sorensen and Mark Schwarzer’s teams of the season so far.
Newcastle defender named in Premier League teams of the season so far
The former Premier League goalkeepers have been giving their teams of the season so far on the Optus Sport Football podcast, and they both named Trippier in their sides after the opening 12 games.
Sorensen: “I’ll take my right-back Trippier. I think this year again he’s started off with six assists. I think he’s a leader in that team, consistent week in, week out. It could be Trent Alexander-Arnold, it could be others but no for me he’s my right-back.”
Schwarzer: “On my list, I’ve only got three defenders, so I didn’t have Trippier on it. So, for the fourth one I’m going with him as well as he’s been brilliant, he’s a top class player.”

Kieran Trippier outperforming Trent Alexander-Arnold
It is high praise for Trippier, especially coming from an ex-Sunderland goalkeeper in Sorensen. That sums up how impressive the 33-year-old has been.
Sorensen even thinks he has been more impressive than Liverpool superstar Trent Alexander-Arnold, who has been given a bit more freedom by Jurgen Klopp.
The 25-year-old has been in great form, but he is not as complete as Trippier is. We have seen wonderful defensive displays by the Toon leader as well as fantastic moments in attack. In contrast, it is only really about the attacking when it comes to Alexander-Arnold.
It has been a joy to watch Trippier once again this season, but he has looked tired in recent weeks. He has been away with England during the international break, but has now left the camp due to a personal matter.
