Predicted Newcastle United XI to face Burnley as Eddie Howe makes Yoane Wissa call

Eddie Howe could finally be able to select Yoane Wissa when Newcastle United face Burnley on Saturday.

It has been reported that Yoane Wissa could be involved against Burnley, as he finally eyes his Toon debut.

It is a major boost for Eddie Howe, who needs his players to bounce back after the disappointment of drawing with Spurs. That result felt like a defeat for Newcastle, and now they have an opportunity to put things right against Scott Parker’s newly-promoted side.

But Howe will be keen to rotate too, and this is Geordie Boot Boys’ predicted Newcastle United XI to face Burnley.

If you bumped into Eddie Howe on the street right now, what changes would you tell him to make vs Burnley?!

I’d be telling him to get Anthony Gordon in the XI after his cameo against Spurs!

Eddie Howe makes one change in defence

The Newcastle United manager likes to keep a settled defence, but there is a need for rotation ahead of an important week.

Ideally, Howe would rest Tino Livramento and Lewis Hall given their involvement after injury. However, the Burnley game feels like one that is ideally suited to their qualities. Therefore, they should start again.

The one change comes at centre-back, with Fabian Schar replacing Dan Burn. Schar has spoken about being frustrated by his lack of minutes as of late, and will hope to receive an opportunity to prove his worth against Burnley.

Sandro Tonali rested against Burnley

Sandro Tonali was forced off at half-time against Spurs due to injury, and that should result in him being rested on Saturday. Newcastle have got big games against Bayer Leverkusen and Sunderland on the horizon, while they have plenty of options in midfield.

Bruno Guimaraes is the obvious candidate to come into the starting XI, having initially been rested against Spurs. Bruno was fuming after the Spurs draw, and will be desperate to put things right.

He should join Lewis Miley in midfield, while the third position is up for grabs.

Joelinton was poor against Spurs, while the Burnley game does not feel suited to his qualities. That could result in him being dropped, with Geordie Boot Boys backing Joe Willock to get an opportunity in the starting XI.

If he does, it would be his first Premier League start since September.

Anyone recognise the Burnley player making the mistake for Newcastle’s winner? 👀

Yoane Wissa on the bench for Newcastle United

For the first time in his Newcastle United career, Yoane Wissa could be available to feature this weekend.

The 29-year-old is predicted to be named as a substitute, which is great news for Nick Woltemade. Newcastle’s most expensive signing ever has been crying out for backup, and now he could finally get it.

But it will be the big man who starts against Burnley, with Harvey Barnes and Anthony Gordon out wide.

Gordon’s cameo against Spurs was excellent, and it should lead to him returning to the starting XI.

Predicted XI vs Burnley: Ramsdale; Livramento, Thiaw, Schar, Hall; Miley, Bruno, Willock; Barnes, Woltemade, Gordon.
