Oliver Glasner was very impressed with Newcastle United’s performance against Manchester United.
The Crystal Palace manager was paying close attention as Newcastle beat Manchester United 4-1 at St James’ Park on Sunday.
The Eagles are next up for Newcastle United, as Glasner’s side head to Tyneside on Wednesday night for a rearranged Premier League clash.
Newcastle will have Joe Willock available after concussion, as the Magpies aim to make it six wins in a row. As long as Eddie Howe’s side avoid defeat, they will move up to third in the Premier League table.

Oliver Glasner praises Newcastle United
Crystal Palace should put up more of a fight than Man United did at the weekend, and Glasner has made it clear that he will be heading to St James’ Park in search of all three points.
The 50-year-old has spoken to the media ahead of the game, admitting that Newcastle’s style of play will influence his team selection.
“We will go for a win,” he said.
“Of course, we are also considering what we need playing against Newcastle. I watched their game against Man United. They were very powerful, with a lot of energy, especially in their stadium.
“They are playing for a Champions League position at the end of the season. They’re a great team, high intensity, making a lot of sprints, so we will find the right players to compete with them. And this is how we will pick the team.”
Crystal Palace will have Marc Guehi back for Newcastle United clash
While Newcastle go into this game on the back of an emphatic win over Man United, Crystal Palace’s previous match ended in a 5-2 defeat to Manchester City.
It in initially looked like Palace were going to do the Magpies a favour in the race for Champions League qualification, as they took a 2-0 lead at the Etihad Stadium. Unfortunately for the Eagles, the next five goals went to Man City.
They were without Marc Guehi on Saturday, with the centre-back serving a suspension after being sent off against Brighton.
He will return to the Palace squad on Wednesday night, as he prepares to play at the stadium that almost became his home last summer.
Newcastle tried to sign Guehi, but Paul Mitchell could not agree on a price for the defender.
With the 2025 summer transfer window looming, it has been reported that Newcastle could target Guehi again.
Guehi looks likely to leave Palace, having so far opted against signing a new contract at Selhurst Park. His current deal expires in 2026, which means Palace need to cash in this summer or risk losing him for nothing 12 months later.
