Mehrdad Ghodoussi has sent a passionate message to Newcastle United supporters on Twitter following the Magpies’ 1-0 win over Crystal Palace.
Eddie Howe’s side reached the magic 40 points mark on Wednesday night, with Miguel Almiron scoring the only goal of the game.
It was an absolute cracker, and ensured Newcastle won their sixth home game in a row. That’s the first time they’ve won six in a row at St James’ Park since Sir Bobby Robson was boss in 2004.
It was a special night underneath the lights, and there were big celebrations from fans, players, staff and owners.
The whole consortium were at SJP to watch Newcastle win, including PIF chief Yasir Al-Rumayyan. He certainly had a night to remember, and even found time for a kickabout with Ghodoussi and Jamie Reuben after the game.
The owners also joined the players and staff for the traditional post-game photo that accompanies every Toon victory under Howe.

Following the game, Ghodoussi wrote on Twitter: “So proud of this team, of this club, of this city!! We are one and we are nothing without each other!! Let’s keep this going, our journey is just beginning.”
Those final five words should have Toon fans buzzing about the future. ‘Our journey is just beginning’.
The past few months have been incredible for Newcastle supporters, and the co-owner is vowing that even better times are on the horizon.
It’s crazy to think where Newcastle could be in a few years. Sitting 11th in the table with 40 points right now seemed unimaginable before October 7th arrived. That’s the day that everything changed, when Mike Ashley finally sold the club.
Since then, Newcastle United have been different. They are ambitious and the owners backed Howe in January with fantastic signings. We have a group of players who are getting better under the manager rather than regressing. And we have a reenergized fanbase that has helped turn St James’ Park into a fortress.
If this is only the beginning, I never want this journey to end.
