Newcastle United will be back with Adidas next season, and news about what the 2024/25 away kit is going to look like is very exciting.

This is Newcastle’s third season with Castore. The British brand have produced some really good looking kits since replacing Puma, but there have always been concerns from fans.

There have been a lot of issues when it comes to production, but they will come to an end this season.

That is because the club have agreed a £40million-a-year deal with Adidas, as revealed in Newcastle’s recent Amazon Prime documentary – even if the news was leaked earlier than anticipated.

There is a huge amount of buzz about Adidas and Newcastle working together again. The German brand made some of the Magpies’ most iconic kits, particularly during the 1990s under Kevin Keegan.

Now Adidas are returning, and leaked plans about what they intend to do with Newcastle’s away kit next season are very exciting.

Adidas plan to recreate iconic Newcastle United away kit next season

According to Footy Headlines, Newcastle’s away kit next season is going to be based on the jersey from the 1995/96 season.

That year, the Magpies’ away shirt was burgundy and navy blue hoops, with a white grandad collar. It was an absolute thing of beauty, and Adidas are planning to recreate it next year.

That is very exciting, and will immediately ensure that Toon fans were right to be buzzing about Adidas returning to St James’ Park.

Footy Headlines, who have a great reputation when it comes to leaking kit information, add that the kit will use the new Adidas logo, rather than the classic one that was just ‘Adidas’ in writing from back in the day.

Regardless, that sounds absolutely class. If the away kit is based on that one from the 90s then fans will be absolutely delighted.

There was similar joy in 2018, when Puma released a similar tribute kit back when Rafa Benitez was manager.
