Indeed, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is one of the most decorated managers football has ever seen.

A record-breaking five-time Champions League winner and the only manager to have won all of Europe’s big five leagues, the Italian could soon start running the rule over Guimaraes and Joelinton at international level.

According to Sky Sports News, the Madrid boss is now “very close” to becoming the Brazil manager.

Guimaraes has 33 caps for the Selecao, while Joelinton has mustered seven since making his debut in 2023.

Talks about taking over at Brazil are understood to be likely to continue next month but the Brazilian Football Federation are said to want the 65-year-old in place before their games against Ecuador and Paraguay in June.
