Newcastle United star Bruno Guimaraes has been in the headlines recently.
Guimaraes has proven a remarkable signing for Newcastle United and continues to form a huge part of Eddie Howe’s first team.
Newcastle paid more than £40million to sign Guimaraes from Lyon in January 2022 and that has proven to be a bargain.
Still, his future has once again been questioned. Al Ittihad are interested in signing Guimaraes from Newcastle, while the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal have previously been linked.
However, there has now been a fresh update on his future.

Latest on Bruno Guimaraes’s future at Newcastle United
According to The Chronicle, sources close to the club are cooling any talk of a move to Saudi Arabia.
The player’s agent – Alexis Malavolta – is understood to have only visited the Middle Eastern club as he was a guest of PIF, who also own a large stake in Newcastle United of course.
Malavolta oversees the business affairs of a number of Brazilian players, including Arsenal’s Gabriel and Juventus star Douglas Luiz.
That is obviously positive to hear but the report adds that recent media speculation suggesting Guimaraes would sign a new contract at Newcastle was played down by people close to him.
What Bruno Guimaraes has said about his Newcastle United future
Thankfully, Guimaraes does not want to leave Newcastle this summer.
The 27-year-old has said he’s happy playing for an “amazing” club and, if the team win on Sunday, he will be a Champions League player once more.
Guimaraes signed a new contract at Newcastle in October 2023 and still has three years to go on it. The club look under no financial pressure to sell right now either, so it seems safe to assume he’ll remain at the club for the foreseeable future.
An absolute masterstroke signing, he’s been a major part of the journey during the PIF era at Newcastle.
