Newcastle United are sweating on the fitness of Bruno Guimaraes ahead of Saturday’s game against Crystal Palace.
The 27-year-old was forced off on Monday night, with Bruno Guimaraes being replaced by Kieran Trippier in the 84th minute of Newcastle United’s defeat to West Ham.
After the game, Eddie Howe said Bruno’s injury was a concern, with the midfielder sustaining a glute problem. However, the Newcastle United manager did not know how serious it would be.
The Brazil international also commented on his situation, with Bruno hoping that it is not a serious injury.
Whether or not it is serious remains to be seen.

Bruno Guimaraes not spotted in Newcastle United training
However, the latest update from the Newcastle United training ground certainly is not positive.
The club have posted a selection of photos from Wednesday morning’s training session to their official website, but there is no sign of Bruno Guimaraes.
The Toon captain is nowhere to be seen, which would suggest that he at least remains a doubt for Saturday’s Premier League clash with Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park.
Most of Newcastle’s starters vs West Ham are missing
While it is concerning that Bruno has not been seen in training after limping out of the defeat to West Ham, it does not necessarily mean he is set for a spell on the sidelines.
A few of Newcastle United’s starters from Monday night are not seen in training, such as Anthony Gordon, Alexander Isak and Fabian Schar.
Lewis Hall and Tino Livramento do not appear on the club’s official website, but they can be spotted on the selection of images posted on Newcastle United’s official Instagram account.
Positive Joe Willock update
From the starting XI on Monday night, Joelinton, Sean Longstaff and Joe Willock feature in the club’s training photos.
It is very encouraging to see the latter take part, after he was forced off at half-time against the Hammers.
Willock has been playing really well as of late, but struggled to replicate that form at St James’ Park in the first game after the international break. Nothing was going right for the 25-year-old, while a leg injury brought an early end to what was proving to be a disappointing night.
But with Willock already back in training, at least he is not going to be set for another injury layoff.
Every player spotted in training: Joelinton, Jacob Murphy, Will Osula, Joe Willock, Kieran Trippier, Matt Targett, Harvey Barnes, Miguel Almiron, Sandro Tonali, Dan Burn, Sean Longstaff, Tino Livramento, Lewis Hall, Lewis Miley.
