If Newcastle United fans weren’t feeling confident about Saturday’s trip to Everton, a kit reveal from the club has dampened the mood even further.
Indeed, Newcastle United have been dreadful away from home since April and little about their first-ever trip to the Hill Dickinson Stadium inspires much confidence.
Everton vs Newcastle could see Eddie Howe’s side lose their fourth consecutive away game following reversals away at West Ham, Brentford and Marseille.
At some point, this team surely have to click but fans could be forgiven for having very little confidence in this side away from home now.
Supporters online did not like a potential kit hint from the club, either.

Newcastle United fans react as green kit could return
Ahead of the game, the club posted a photo previewing the trip to Merseyside on their X account.
It showed Sven Botman in action while wearing the club’s unpopular green kit, in which the team have a dreadful record.
The green kit looks set to return on Saturday at Everton. Do you genuinely believe it is cursed?
Supporters on social media platform X were not happy with that. There are plenty of issues with Newcastle on the road right now and the green kit is increasingly one of them.
“Don’t wear green, we’re bad enough as it is,” said one.
Another supporter added: “Green kit. Terrible away form. REALLY looking forward to it…”
One supporter rightly asked: “There’s no kit clash at all. Why aren’t we wearing black and white?”
“I’m more concerned about wearing the green kit than who is in goal!” said one supporter.
“Bad luck jersey again,” was another comment.
One supporter said: “Ah that green monstrosity.”
Why Newcastle United fans do not like their green kit
Newcastle’s green away kit is unpopular due to their dreadful record in it.
During the 2023/24 season, the team won only twice wearing it. This time around, they are yet to win while wearing green.

It should be noted that Newcastle also haven’t played very well in their third blue strip this season, such are their struggles away from home.
Still, the green kit brings back unhappy memories. West Ham and Brentford were two of Newcastle’s worst performances under Howe, after all.
Clearly, it doesn’t matter what kit Newcastle are wearing if they don’t show up on the pitch.
The omens while wearing green, however, aren’t particularly promising.
