Newcastle United have officially released their third kit for the 2024/25 season, and it is another beauty by Adidas.
Toon fans are delighted to see the club working with Adidas again, and the Newcastle United home shirt has been incredibly well received. Unsurprisingly, it is black and white.
But the away kits give Adidas the chance to do something a bit different, and supporters were teased ahead of its release. Anthony Gordon praised Adidas for their creative Newcastle kits after seeing them ahead of their release, and now the Toon Army know exactly what the 23-year-old was talking about.
Newcastle United unveil beautiful away kit
After teasing its release following their arrival in Japan, Newcastle United have officially unveiled their third kit for the 2024/25 season. It is exactly like the leaked version that did the rounds back in April.
The shirt is white with a black collar, plus some splashes of green. It is a tribute to the away shirt that the Magpies wore in the 1999/2000 season, while there is also an even more historic throwback.
Newcastle’s third kit is using a different club crest, with Adidas opting to revert to the badge that the club used between 1983 and 1988.
Newcastle fans react to Adidas’ latest release
Just like the home kit, I think it is absolutely beautiful. In the words of Newcastle’s social media team, it is ‘mint’!
Unsurprisingly, a lot of fans are delighted with what Adidas have produced, and have been praising the shirt on X.
One fan even went as far to write: “One of the very best kits we’ve ever had.”
This Newcastle supporter is also a big fan, and really likes the use of the old crest: “Genuinely one of the best kits we’ve had for 10+ years… That badge alone I’d pay money for.”
Another fan also liked the retro feel to Newcastle’s new third kit, writing: “Adidas didn’t excite me with the home shirt but this gets a massive thumbs up from me. 99/00 vibes.”
Newcastle’s throwback kit is going down really well, with this fan commenting: “Loved the original, love this version and also my favourite badge.”
However, not every Newcastle United supporter is happy with the third kit. There have been some negative responses following its release.
One supporter wrote: “Love the colour scheme but really can’t get away with the collar.”
Another added: “Badge ruins it.”

Away kit next up for Toon fans
Adidas have released two Newcastle United kits so far, and there is still one more to come.
The Magpies still need an away kit for the 2024/25 season, and that is expected to be another throwback jersey.
Newcastle’s away kit for the upcoming season is expected to pay tribute to the 90s, with Eddie Howe’s players due to wear the iconic burgundy and navy hoops that Kevin Keegan’s Entertainers once wore.
That is considered one of Newcastle’s best kits ever, and it is extremely exciting to see that Adidas are bringing it back – if the rumours are to be believed.
