How long every Newcastle United player has remaining on their contracts and the seven who could leave for nothing in 2026.

Eddie Howe has assembled a strong and exciting team since taking over at Newcastle United from Steve Bruce in 2021, helped in no small part by PIF’s vast wealth.

Newcastle have one of the most expensively built squads in the Premier League and the club has understandably moved to tie much of their best young talent down to multi-year contracts – even if the Alexander Isak saga shows they don’t guarantee a player’s commitment.

However, a lot of players are reaching the end of their deals, with seven set to expire in 2026 and others not far behind in 2027.

How long is left on every Newcastle United contract

Newcastle United currently have seven players who have entered the final year of their contracts with the club and could potentially leave on a free transfer in the summer of 2026.

Seven Newcastle players could begin talks with a new club in January

The seven players whose contracts will expire in 2026 will have the option to start looking for a new club fairly soon.

Soon-to-be free agents are allowed to begin negotiations with potential new clubs and sign pre-contract agreements ahead of a Bosman transfer from January 1.

Newcastle won’t be too fearful, though, as they were in a similar situation last term and moved to agree one-year extensions with Fabian Schar and Emil Krafth, while extending Jamaal Lascelles’ deal as well.

They have already moved to that with Nick Pope, whose contract was set to expire in 2026 but has been extended by a year.

However, with Schar and Kieran Trippier’s deals approaching an end, they will have to move quickly to secure such valuable players in Howe’s side.
