Newcastle United chants and lyrics for Eddie Howe and his first team squad

Chants Newcastle United fans sing for their first team stars and manager Eddie Howe.

Newcastle United have one of the biggest and most passionate fan bases in English football.

St. James’ Park is full to its 52,264 capacity with every home game, while thousands of fans travel across the country for each away day – sometimes, even if they don’t have tickets, like for big European trips.

As is tradition in the UK, the Newcastle fans have a large arsenal of chants in their back pocket and here are the current songs in rotation for Eddie Howe and his squad of stars.

Eddie Howe chant

Howe has been Newcastle manager since November 2021 and is absolutely beloved by supporters, not least for finally bringing the club’s long wait for a trophy to an end.

He has two chants in his honour:

Chant 1:

“Eddie Howe’s black and white army! Eddie Howe’s black and white army!”

Chant 2, to the tune of Rockin’ All Over the World by Status Quo:

And I like it, I like it, I like it, I like it
I li-li-like it, li-li-li
Here we gooooOOOooooo, Eddie Howe and Jason Tindall!”

Nick Pope chant

Despite coming close to losing his spot as Newcastle tried to sign James Trafford in 2025, Nick Pope is still the club’s first choice goalkeeper. Fans have one song for the shot-stopper.

To the tune of Our House by Madness:

“Nick Pope! In the middle of our goal! Nick Pope! In the middle of our goal!”

Kieran Trippier chant

Kieran Trippier was the first Newcastle signing of the PIF era and what a crucial one he has proven to be, too, with the veteran full-back still a key part of the team today. Fans have a chant which pays tribute to his brilliant free-kicks.

Chant lyrics:

“Kieran Trippier, over the wall!
Kieran Trippier, over the wall!”

Tino Livramento chant

Newcastle spent a hefty sum to sign Tino Livramento but he is proving to be worth every penny, with excellent performances at both right-back and left-back. Fans love to chant his name, even if it isn’t the most inventive song in the world.

Livramento chant 1:

“Tino! Tino! Tino!”

However, there is another song with a few more words:

“I found a love, I fell for him fast
His name is Tino, he’s f______ class
He loves the Geordies, we love him too
Livramento is a Mag through and through!”

Dan Burn chant

Dan Burn is the fans’ local hero. A man from Blyth who eventually signed for Newcastle late in his career and went on to become a legend, even before his goal in the Carabao Cup final. It’s only fitting that he has a great chant.

To the tune of Pretty Green Eyes:

“He is from Blyyyyyth
You’ll never ever beat Dan Burn!
He is from Blyyyyyth
You’ll never ever beat Dan Burn!”

Sven Botman chant

Sven Botman has had a lot of injury troubles since joining Newcastle but fans have loved what they’ve seen when he’s been on the pitch.

To the tune of darts anthem Chase The Sun:

“Duh duh, duh duh der
Der der der der derrrr
Der der der der derrr
Sven Bot-man!”

Lewis Hall chant

Like Livramento, Lewis Hall is a young fullback making waves with the Toon, but his chant is miles better.

To the tune of American Boy by Estelle:

“Take me on a trip I’d like to go some day
Champions League, Europa, wanna see you play
I really want to get Europe with you
You’re my super Lewis Hall
Lewis Hall!”

Sandro Tonali chants

Midfield maestro Sandro Tonali has become a firm fan favourite after finally returning to the side following his lengthy suspension. Fans have two chants for the Italian.

Sandro Tonali chant 1:

“Sandro, ole ole ole!”

Sandro Tonali chant 2 to the tune of La Bamba:

“Sandro Tonali!
Sandro Tonali!
He drinks Moretti
He eats spaghetti
He hates f______ Sunderland!”

Bruno Guimaraes chants

Another hero in the middle for Newcastle fans is Bruno Guimaraes, who has become an honorary Geordie since his arrival in the city in 2022. The captain has two chants as well.

Guimaraes chant 1:

“Bruno’s f______ magic
He wears a magic hat
He could have signed for Arsenal
But he said no f___ that

“He wants to play for Eddie
In the famous black and white
And when we win the Premier League
“We’ll sing this song all night, ohhh!”

Of course, the other song is much simpler and has already been used for another player:

“Bruno! Bruno! Bruno!”

Joelinton chants

Fellow Brazilian Joelinton has become an icon on the Tyne and has two chants sung about him.

Joelinton chant 1:

“He’s Brazilian
He only cost £40m
And we think he’s f****** brilliant
He’s Jo-ellll-in-ton!”

Joelinton 2 to the tune of Waka Waka by Shakira:

“Zamina-mina, hey-ey!
Waka, waka, hey-hey!

Harvey Barnes chant

Winger Harvey Barnes has struggled to nail down a consistent place in Howe’s starting XI but tends to get involved in the goals when he does play, leading to fans singing his name.

Barnes chant to the tune of Love Will Tear Us Apart by Joy Division:

Anthony Gordon chants

A skilful and exciting winger is prime inspiration for songs, so it’s no surprise that supporters have two in their locker for Anthony Gordon.

Nick Woltemade chants

Newcastle made Nick Woltemade their record signing in 2025, splashing out £69m to Stuttgart for his signature and beating Bayern Munich in doing so. It’s not taken long for fans to come up with chants for him.

Another new signing fans have already come up with a brilliant chant for is Malick Thiaw, and it dominated Brussels in October when Newcastle played Union Saint-Gilloise.
