Newcastle United unveiled their new sponsor on Monday afternoon, confirming a deal with Istanbul-based hair transplant specialists Dr. Cinik.
The Turkish company will be the club’s new Official Hair Clinic Partner, which is apparently a thing. Their logo will soon be seen inside of St James’ Park, with Dr. Cinik set to appear on the LED boards inside the ground. They will also feature on Newcastle’s social media channels.
In the statement, Newcastle add that fans will be rewarded with discounts on Dr. Cinik’s services, which is great news for the follicly challenged members of the Toon Army. There will also be competitions on offer, but goodness knows what the prizes will be. A black and white toupee perhaps?

Newcastle’s newest sponsor is a strange one, and it comes months after the club were linked with signing a deal with the nation of Botswana.
While partnerships like this will turn heads (hairy ones or otherwise), it highlights Newcastle’s desire to increase their commercial portfolio.
Newcastle confirm more new sponsors are on the way
As part of the statement, the club confirmed that more new partnerships are on the way.

“Dr. Cinik is a welcome addition to our growing family of partners at Newcastle United,” the club’s Head of Commercial Dale Aitchison said.
“We are exploring new commercial opportunities with leading organisations across new markets and our partnership with Dr. Cinik is one that provides attractive mutual benefits.”
This is the first time I’ve ever heard of a football club having a ‘Official Hair Clinic Partner’, but it shows that the new Toon owners are looking to increase revenue via sponsorship.

That is one of the issues that has held Newcastle back financially since the takeover. Better deals need to be put in place increase the club’s revenue and allow it invest more money.
New CEO Darren Eales will have a big role to play here, as he looks to provide Eddie Howe and Dan Ashworth a platform for success on the pitch.
If that means we need an official hair clinic partner then so be it…
