With Newcastle United almost over the line in the race for the Champions League, attentions are turning towards summer signings.
While it’s hard to imagine PIF completely ripping up their policy of signing younger players to develop together at Newcastle in the years to come, the glitz and glamour of Champions League football does change things somewhat.
Indeed, Eddie Howe is said to want to make signings ready to hit the ground running in Europe’s elite club competition.
Perhaps then, we can expect some big names to arrive at St James’ Park.
One of those could be Roma forward Paulo Dybala.

According to 90 Min, the Magpies are one of the clubs who have been alerted to his situation.
The Argentine is believed to have a release clause worth around £10.5m inserted into his contract with the Serie A side and has impressed this season.
Described as “world class” by Brazil legend Roberto Carlos last year, the 29-year-old has scored 16 goals while registering seven assists across all competitions this season.
Though a move to the Premier League is seen as unlikely as things stand, the report suggests English clubs – including Newcastle – are yet to rule it out.
Dybala’s injury record is a worry
Having starred for Juventus, Roma and Argentina over his career, few can doubt Dybala’s quality.
Still, the major worry surrounds his injury record.
Thought to be on big wages, the forward has missed 51 games through various problems in the last three seasons. Quite why the club would take such a risk on a player prone to injuries approaching 30 years old is unclear.
That’s not to suggest Dybala would necessarily be a bad signing, it’s just it would stray so far from what the club have done so far in the market.
