Newcastle United are still looking to sign a winger, and remain interested in Rennes speedster Kamaldeen Sulemana.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who state that the 20-year-old is still someone who the Magpies are looking to sign this summer.
There is now less than two weeks to go in the summer transfer market, and Newcastle are still yet to sign any attackers. That’s a big concern, as we desperately need to add more goals to our game.
At a minimum, Eddie Howe needs another striker and a winger.

Sulemana could be the latter, although a move doesn’t appear to have progressed since it was claimed that Dan Ashworth was considering a bid for the Ghanaian.
And the youngster could hold the key to us having a perfect end to the window.
Newcastle’s continued interest in Sulemana is…interesting
Let’s talk hypothetically. If Newcastle do make a move for Sulemana, it could open the door for us to make three new signings before the window closes.
As previously mentioned, Howe needs a winger. He needs someone who can compete with Miguel Almiron, Ryan Fraser and Jacob Murphy. There is a desperate need for more quality in wide areas.

Sulemana would prove that, but so would other targets. We have also been linked with loan deals for Chelsea’s Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic.
But a move for the Ligue 1 ace with ‘incredible speed‘ would negate the need for us to sign either of those players. That means we still have the option of loaning someone from Chelsea.
Newcastle have two other targets at Stamford Bridge: Armando Broja and Conor Gallagher. The former could fill the striker void at St James’ Park. However, it has previously been claimed that he wants to be a guaranteed starter if he moves.
He’s not going to get those assurances at Newcastle, which might make a deal for the Albanian difficult.
Therefore, that could make a loan deal for Gallagher more probable. It was recently claimed that talks were progressing well, and he could prove to be an ideal replacement for the injured Jonjo Shelvey.

We would still need a striker though, which brings us to Joao Pedro. Two bids have been rejected for the forward, but he is keen on a move. Financially, Dan Ashworth doesn’t feel too far away from getting this deal over the line.
Of course, this is totally hypothetical. Our finances might not allow us to complete two more permanent deals this summer.
However, a deal for Sulemana would open more doors, and could lead to a good transfer window becoming a great transfer window.
