Reports linking Newcastle United with Christian Eriksen are intensifying.
After tentative rumours in January, the Magpies were once again linked with the Danish midfielder on Tuesday. 90min claimed that Newcastle are one of multiple Premier League clubs eyeing the 30-year-old on a free transfer.
Eriksen joined Brentford in January, agreeing a short-term deal with the Bees. However, that contract expires this summer, and, given his incredible return, it’s no surprise to see a plethora of sides chasing his signature.
And it appears Newcastle are one of them.

The Northern Echo have backed up 90min’s Eriksen claim, and provided some fresh insight on Newcastle’s pursuit of the playmaker.
Newcastle willing to match any offer Christian Eriksen receives
According to the Northern Echo, the Magpies are ‘hopeful’ they can win the race to land Eriksen this summer.
The report adds that Newcastle are willing to increase his wages, and will match or better any other offer he receives.
Given Newcastle’s newfound wealth, they are capable of offering Eriksen a huge package to come to St James’ Park.
He would be a brilliant signing too, adding creativity and invention to a sometimes stuttering attack.

And given the fact he is set to be available on a free, it would allow Newcastle to invest their transfer budget elsewhere.
Eriksen has been excellent since his return to football. It looked like his career was over last summer, collapsing on the pitch during a game for Denmark at the Euros.
But he’s back now, and is proving that he hasn’t lost a step.
Brentford won the race to sign him in January, but Newcastle appear to be in a great position to land him this summer.
