Martin Dubravka looks like he could be on his way to Manchester United, but Scott McTominay reportedly won’t be going the other way to Newcastle.
The Magpies have been linked with a move for the midfielder, with Eddie Howe keen to fill the void left by the injured Jonjo Shelvey.
He’s set to be out of action until after the World Cup, meaning Newcastle could do with a replacement.

And one player linked with moving to St James’ Park is McTominay. It was recently reported that the club were considering a bid to sign the 25-year-old, who has previously been described as a ‘physical monster‘.
However, it looks like the Red Devils intend on keeping the Scotland international.
Man United want to keep Scott McTominay
According to the Daily Mail, Erik ten Hag’s side are expected to turn down any bids they receive for McTominay. That includes a possible loan approach from Newcastle.

Considering how much he has played since the change of manager, that’s no surprise. Casemiro’s arrival at Old Trafford might limit his minutes, but it appears that McTominay is staying put.
While it’s a slight blow given the fact he was linked with a move to Newcastle, most supporters won’t be too gutted.
Yes, he has impressed at times in a poor Man United team. And he’s the type of player who could get better under Howe.

But we have been linked with better alternatives, such as Conor Gallagher from Chelsea. A Newcastle move for McTominay wouldn’t have excited supporters, and he would have had a lot to prove to the Toon Army.
Instead, he’s staying at Old Trafford, and he could soon be joined by Dubravka. The Slovakian is reportedly in talks over a loan move, as Newcastle look to move on at least one keeper.
It’s somewhat amusing that Man United are looking to loan a Newcastle player, just months after they priced Jesse Lingard out of temporarily going the other way. How times change.
